Dear Resident,
As we emerge from the pandemic, thanks to the rapid roll out of vaccines, our thoughts can turn to the future. We can now focus on continuing to look after the vulnerable while helping our local economy and community build back, even stronger and safer than before Covid19.
Staffordshire’s Police and Fire & Rescue services are both judged to be ‘good’ by Her Majesty’s Inspectors, our crime levels are low and the £250 million budget is well managed thanks to 8 years of oversight by a Conservative Commissioner. I plan to keep Staffordshire safe, to keep driving down crime and anti-social behaviour by recruiting 250 more police officers . I will invest to prevent fires and accidents, to support victims and to tackle addiction and domestic violence.
If you elect me as your Commissioner, I will always be listening and working for you. I will make sure that your priorities drive the Staffordshire Police & Crime and Fire & Rescue local delivery plans.
I will use my experience of helping organisations to run efficiently and manage change. I will use my 15 years of political experience as a District councillor, Staffordshire County Councillor and twice Parliamentary candidate in Stoke-on-Trent to bring our councils, health authorities, businesses and schools together in strong partnerships to tackle the underlying causes of crime.
Staffordshire is a big place so the local Police and Fire & Rescue Plans that I will prepare, in consultation with you, will address our mix of rural and urban challenges and I aim to strengthen our relationships with neighbouring forces to safeguard our borders and road network.
Delivering excellent Police and Fire & Rescue Services will always be the responsibility of the Chief Constable and Chief Fire Officer so who you vote for as Commissioner, to recruit to these positions, to manage the finances and to hold the services to account on your behalf matters.
Finally, as a Conservative, I know how important it is that your council tax is spent wisely on the services that we need. Staffordshire’s Police & Fire Service local tax precepts are amongst the lowest in the country and I plan to keep it that way.
To help build a strong and safe Staffordshire vote for Ben Adams when you receive your postal vote, or visit your local polling station on Thursday 6th May.
Thank you for your support and best wishes for the rest of 2021.
Ben Adams
Conservative candidate for Staffordshire Police, Fire & Crime Commissioner 2021.
